We have several projects in the works with S.B. Cox. Two that stand out are the Westin Hotel at Reynolds Crossing and a stamped concrete project in the Founders Bridge subdivision. These two projects come to mind because they show how diverse the company is -- they can effectively service an eight-story hotel, but we get the same great product in a 50-yard residential project.
We continue to come back to S.B. Cox time and time again because they work on relationships; they treat their customers with respect. They let their customers know they are more than just another order.
S.B. Cox's customer service is through the roof. A great share of our work load is in the decorative marketplace, and S.B. Cox is always willing to work with us on different mixes for those tough projects that take an extra step to turn out. That is something nobody else is willing to do.
We recommend S.B. Cox to all of our general contractors and residential contractors that have ready-mix needs that we at R.J. Biringer can't fulfill.
Rick Penatzer of River City Concrete said he has been very pleased with the service his firm receives from S.B. Cox Ready-Mix, adding that they are "hands-down the best in Richmond."
River City Concrete serves residential customers and also does some light commercial jobs. River City has been working with S.B. Cox for about seven or eight years, Penatzer said, and currently S.B. Cox supplies the firm with about 98% of its ready-mix needs.
"Their service is the biggest reason we've stayed with them for so long," Penatzer said. River City likes to start work early in the morning, usually at 6:30 a.m., and Penatzer said of S.B. Cox, "They're always there on time." Penatzer also described S.B. Cox as a very "hands-on" operation; if any problems arise, "they're right there."
"Their exposed aggregate is one of the best in the area. Every time we pour, we know what we're going to get," Penatzer said. He also described the aggregate, valued for it's warm brown tones, as "some of the prettiest in the area."
